Form

A website from one source

Building a site isn’t hard. Building a site that’s still consistent after twenty changes is. That only works when form, copy and structure come from separate sources that each do one thing.

In production This site is one of those: over fifty pages in two languages, from one style file and one copy file.

Three sources, not one soup

The form lives in the style file from the first topic. All copy sits in a single file, languages side by side — so an English page can’t quietly fall behind the Dutch one. The structure lives in components that combine the two. Change something about the brand and no page has to be opened.

What AI actually does here

Not “make a nice website”. Rather: write a component that respects the existing grid, add a page in both languages without forgetting a key, build an animation that honours the reduced-motion preference. The dull, precise work where consistency dies when a human does it by hand.

Control stays

Everything is in version control, every change is reversible, and nothing goes live without someone looking at it. That isn’t a brake on speed — it’s what makes speed sustainable.
